Plasterboard Patch Repair and Skimming in Biggleswade

Recently, I completed a plasterboard patch repair at a property on Foxglove Drive, Biggleswade, where the wall had been damaged around an electrical socket.

To ensure a long-lasting and professional finish, the repair involved much more than simply filling the damaged area. After safely isolating and removing the socket, I carefully cut out all of the damaged plasterboard before installing new timber battens to provide a solid fixing for the replacement plasterboard.

Once the new plasterboard was securely fitted, I applied scrim tape to reinforce the joints and help prevent future cracking. The repair was then finished by skimming approximately one square metre of the surrounding wall, allowing the new plaster to blend seamlessly into the existing surface. The end result was a smooth, invisible repair, ready for decorating.

At A.Nicholls Plastering, I carry out all types of plaster repairs, from small patch repairs and accidental damage to larger renovation projects. Every repair is completed with the same attention to detail, ensuring the finished wall looks as though it was never damaged in the first place.
